The 2026 Slipcover Summit will be held Friday, November 6 - Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Workroom Tech's new location in Richmond, VA. This is a unique opportunity to spend time together with other custom sewing and workroom professionals. We've gotten a block of rooms at a nearby Hampton Inn for a Thursday arrival - Sunday departure. This will be a fun learning experience with other slipcover makers, teachers, and friends.

Gather at Workroom Tech to check-in and meet attendees and instructors. Dinner on your own.
Friday, November 6, 2026
9:00 am - 5:00 pm
The instructors will introduce their unique projects. You will learn their approach and plan, challenges and fabric choices. Instructors will then start patterning, cutting and fitting while attendees watch and participate. You might want to watch one instructor or all four depending on what skills you are most interested in learning.
Lunch is provided by Jonathan Bennett, owner of Unsprung Upholstery and Workroom Tech.

Saturday, November 7, 2026
9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Slipcover instructors continue with fabrication, sewing and sharing specialty skills. Part of the day will be at Workroom Tech where instructors can use work tables and machines.
Lunch on your own
6:00 - 8:00 pm
Group dinner "that's a wrap party" - please advise any dietary restrictions.

*Workroom Tech will be open for use of industrial machines, worktables and tools. If you would like to bring your own slipcover project, you are welcome to bring your own machine to set up at the Inn. The Slipcover Summit instructors will be there to give you tips and advice but not one-on-one training.

2026 Slipcover Summit
There is a $75 fee for cancellation before October 1, 2026. There are no refunds for cancellation after October 1.
The minimum class size for this event is 8 students. In the event we do not have the required number of students by October 17, 2026, class will be canceled and full refunds will be given (credits for future classes will not be given).
