In this hands-on upholstery workshop you will learn specialty skills that will take your upholstery education to the next level.  You will complete 16” x 16” tufted leather sample boards using a variety of traditional methods and techniques. The finished boards can be used as examples to show your clients, you can hang them on the wall, or you can add feet and turn them into a footstool.

In this 2-day class, you will complete the following sample boards:

1. Deep button tufting with a Vandyke join.

2. Biscuit tufting

3. Upholstered board with buttons and nails added.

The skills learned in this class can be used for upholstery projects like chairs, sofas, settees. ottomans, footstools, banquets and headboards.

Students will need to bring a leather hide and any specialty supplies like nail heads or buttons.  The instructor will help you to order the correct hide for the class projects.  The base sample boards and general upholstery supplies are provided.

You will be using industrial machinery and professional tools.  You do not need to be a professional but some experience with upholstery is required to take this class.

This class requires a minimum number of 3 students.  Do not book travel until you have been informed if the class has met the minimum number of students.
