Introduction to Sewing Pillows

9:00 am - 5:00 pm with a 1-hour lunch on your own

If you love to sew and want to try making pillows for your own home or as a business, this is the class for you! In this hands-on class, you will learn how to design and make custom pillows using professional methods and machines. This is a beginning level class. You will be sewing on industrial machines but don't be afraid - it's easier than you think!
Class projects include a knife edge pillow with invisible zipper and a knife edge pillow with welt cord and zipper.
Class size is limited to 3 students. Each student will have use of a 5' x 10' worktable, industrial straight stitch machine with assorted machine feet, and sewing kit. Pillow forms and foam will be provided for you. Bring your own fabric for two pillows (at least 1 yard for each)
This class includes:
Learning to sew on an industrial machine
Selecting fabric
Figuring yardage
Choosing pillow form fills and sizes
Cutting fabrics with pattern repeats
Making and applying welt cord
Zippers
This is a beginning level course using professional methods and tools. Students are required to have at basic sewing skills and experience using a sewing machine.

A minimum number of students is required. Please wait to book travel until you are notified that the class will be held as scheduled.
There is a $75 cancellation fee for any class cancelled 3 weeks prior to the class start date. There are no refunds for classes cancelled 3 weeks or less before the class start date but the class fee can be used for a future class, space permitting.
