What You'll Learn
- Operating professional workroom equipment: industrial straight stitch, walking foot, overlock, and blind hemming machines
- Using a grommet and button press, pneumatic staple gun, and standard workroom worktables
- Inspecting, cutting, and joining fabrics
- Finishing clean, professional hems

What to Bring
Class work is conducted primarily on the industrial equipment provided in the classroom, so no equipment of your own is required. Come ready with your questions — Kari will cover the practical, real-world details of getting a workroom up and running.
This is an active class, so please be sure to wear comfortable clothes. In a workroom environment, thick-soled shoes are a must have: no open-toed or thin-soled shoes, such as flats and sandals.
Who Should Take This Class
This class is designed for sewists who want to explore custom window treatments as a professional skill. No prior workroom experience is required, but this class is a necessary first step: the information covered here is required before enrolling in Level I or Level II fabrication classes.
