Pillows and Cushions: Level I

In this four-day class, students will learn the basics of pillow construction and how to sew custom cushions for chairs, sofas, window seats and more. Pillows taught will include knife edge, knife edge with Turkish corner and bolster. Cushions will include a boxed cushion with welt cord and zipper, and a waterfall cushion. Nancy will share how to cover and attach welt cord in one step, using invisible zippers next to welt cord, and how to select the best foam and pillow forms.
Topics covered include:
- pillow forms, foam and other cushion form products
- calculating yardage
- working with pattern motifs, pattern placement and matching
- types of zippers and when to use them
- welt cord
- finishing techniques
- professional tips
Students must have completed Introduction to Sewing Soft Furnishings or have basic sewing experience and practical knowledge.

Students will bring their own face fabric. All other tools, materials and supplies will be provided by Workroom Tech. Once your payment has been processed, you will receive an email with yardage requirements and other information for attending this class.
