Turn your sewing skills into a business or create custom pillows for your home with WT Online sewing classes. Pillows give your home comfort and personality, and are the perfect project for beginners because they do not require a large sewing area.
In this three-week online course you will complete a knife edge pillow with invisible zipper, a knife edge pillow with welt cord and zipper, a Turkish corner pillow with welt cord and zipper, and a pillow with gathered or pleated ruffles that is hand sewn closed. You will also see how to make a flat flange with pleated corners and other, creative ideas.
This class includes:
- Three 1-hour online, interactive lessons with instructor Susan Woodcock, presented live.
- Links to class recordings that you can reference on your own.
- Written how-to instructions
Optional: Basic pillows project kit that includes: nylon coil and invisible zippers, two types of welt cord and one 18 inch square feather/down pillow form (this will be reused for each project).

This is a beginner level course with professional goals. A basic understanding of sewing, and general sewing tools and supplies are needed to complete the projects. You will need fabrics for your pillow fronts, backs and welt cord, sewing machine with welt cord feet and/or zipper feet, scissors, pins, iron, tape measure & ruler or yardstick, needles and thread. You may need interfacing or lining depending on your fabric.
