WT Online: French Blackout Roman Shade with Banding
Instructor: Susan Woodcock
Classes will be held on Tuesdays, May 6, 13 and 20, 2025
Take your basic shade skills to the next level! In this three-week online course you will complete a 32 inch wide x 48 inch long flat fold, French blackout roman shade with inset mitered corner banding. The class project will be fabricated with methods and components to meet the more recent updates to the cord safety standard.
The shade in this class will use the Coulisse Twin Pull lift system. The Coulisse Twin Pull uses a 1-1/2 inch aluminum tube mounted on a 2-1/2 inch board. It operates with two individual pull wands to raise and lower the shade with a retractable cord.
This 3-week class includes:
- Three 1-hour online, interactive lessons with instructor Susan Woodcock, presented live and recorded to review later.
- Written how-to instructions
You will provide your own face fabric (2 yards), fabric to make banding (1 yard) or flat tape trim (4 yards), weight bar or rod (flat bar or 3/8 inch diameter) and assembled, board mounted Coulisse Twin Pull lift system. (Assembled kit includes pull wands, clutch, tube, board, brackets, lift cord and cord clips).
A class supply kit can be purchased for $75.00 and includes, Hanes Classic Sateen linings, heavy flannel interlining, Safe-T-Shade Forever Rings and Ring Locks, cord adjusting orbs and safety warning labels.
